Füleky Tokaj Estate

Founded in 1998 Füleky Tokaj Estate is a medium size winery in the village of Bodrogkeresztúr at the foot of Tokaj Hill, on the bank of River Bodrog. Bodrogkeresztúr is not only a village of Tokaj wines but a favourite nesting place for storks. One of their wine brands was named after a local stork called Fülöp. From the income, they are supporting maintenance of stork nests, creation of stork nest stands and electric insulation to protect birds.

The beautifully renovated and restored 18th-century Baroque Füleky mansion and the winery are in the centre of Bodrogkeresztúr village, which is also the location of the tomb of the wonder rabbi Reb Steiner Saje. It makes the village a world famous place of pilgrimage. Constructed from local stone, this modern winery that is in keeping with its historic surroundings was voted „Industrial Building of the Year 2011” in the online poll of ArchDaily.com, the world’s most popular architecture website. The winery was named after György Füleky, founder of the First Tokaj Wine Growers’ Society.

György Brezovcsik is the winemaker at the estate which owns 25 hectares in the best vineyards in the Tokaj wine region in eleven different locations: Teleki, Vinnai, Bakonyi, Dobai, Mestervölgy, Úrágya, Király, Veresek, Somos, Sajgó, Palandor.

They are constantly experimenting in the vineyard and do everything to get to know their plots’ characteristics and to express them through their single-vineyard bottlings.

FÜLEKY TOKAJ’s estate wine, single-vineyard, late harvest and Aszú wines all share balance and elegance. FÜLÖP the Phenomenon, Bodrogkeresztúr’s white stork brand, their second label consists of a dry and a late harvest wine.
